However, the mission quickly spirals into chaos when the senior officers are wiped out, leaving Liam suddenly in command of a mixed and uncertain group of soldiers. As he steps into this unexpected role, Liam must deal not only with the challenges of war, but also the pressure of leading others, all while questioning whether he can live up to his family’s legacy.
One of the novel’s greatest strengths is its main character. Liam feels real, not like a perfect hero, but someone carrying the heavy weight of responsibility.
